What, am I going to NOT post this?
I am really looking forward to Downey and Evans’ chemistry with the Stark-Cap relationship. That’s a cornerstone to the Avengers in my view.

If you haven’t heard of The Goon, it’s a wonderfully crazy comic book created by Eric Powell (who does the writing and art for the whole shebang). It’s just an awesomely fun book. And this trailer nails the look and feel of it better than just about any other comic book media project I’ve seen. Here’s hoping the movie happens!

Since hitting our fundraising goal on Kickstarter 2 short weeks ago, it’s been back to the drawing board on our robot design!

Check out the newest models for Bit Players (all the extras and small roles).

To give you an idea of the changes made, check out the evolution. Draft 1 is the very first model I made, back when the idea was first formed. Draft 2 is what appeared in the video you saw on Kickstarter.

MMO News is keeping an eye on PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) this week, and not just because it’s one of the few big expo’s that is still focused on its actual subject (looking in your direction, Comiccon). Biowarea and Lucasarts are reportedly going to be there offering attendees some hands-on time with The Old Republic, and teasing some new info reveals.

What has already been revealed, but bears repeating, is that the Republic troops are NOT clones. They are just normal troops. Just saying.

He was uber lame, then the animated series made him awesome. He is a doctor in regular life, but drops the title for his villainy. I give you, Mr. Freeze!

In just under a month, we’re gonna see the start of Season 4 of the series that is way, way better than I thought it would be, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. If you didn’t really care for those prequels (I think some people out there didn’t like the prequels), let me recommend this series emphatically. It has rescued the whole prequel era for many, many fans. The characters are much deeper, the action more exciting, and the pace much brisker than anything in the films. Watch this show.

The trailer gives us some good stuff. We see Dac–homeworld of Admiral Ackbar–for the first time onscreen, except maybe there was a level in like Rogue Squadron or one of the Rebel Assaults, or like Empire at War or one of the video games that may have featured Dac. Can’t remember and refuse to research. We also see Anakin get a bit more evil-ish, and we get some Mandalorian guys. All in all, pretty strong. Expect updates on this here on the Rawr!

NASA discovers Dark Planet; presumably it is quite evil August 12, 2011

NASA’s Kepler spacecraft has spotted a Jupiter-sized planet over 700 light years away. That’s no big news, since we find planets outside our solar system all the time now.

What is special about this one is that it reflects only 10% of the light from its sun. It’s a dark planet. A gigantic dark planet.

Feel free to theorize on the horrible creatures of unfathomable malice that surely live there. Or, of course, feel free to speculate that though we all assume they’re evil, and even though they look like monsters, they’re actually enlightnened and peaceful. Either way’s good.

Willow Garage, the maker of the profoundly awesome PR2 customizable robot, is offering a mroe affordable version of its flagship bot. It’s still over $200,000, of course. So it’s not quite a household item just yet. But, hey! That’s down from the $400,000 price tag it first had!
Soon, the robot butler will be here. If you think you don’t want a robot butler, here’s vid of a PR2 making cookies.

A robot to make you cookies. You seriously don’t want that??
