Remarkable heroism (real life; no joke here) March 25, 2011

When the tsunami buried his town Ishinomaki, this 43-year-old man grabbed a wetsuit and scuba gear and swam into the flooding waters (he SWAM INTO A TSUNAMI) to rescure his wife. The story is here. He swam through the frigid waters and dodged the wreckage, and found her in their house. Together they made it out okay.

Later on he did the same thing for his mom.

This guy is a real person. He’s a human being, and so are we.
That’s a hell of a thing.

This is awesome in the truest sense. It inspires awe.
